Acting as both training camp and laboratory, it is a diverse, multidisciplinary program where unexpected collisions and obsessive attention to detail expose a rich seam of creative potential. Media Studies presents an opportunity to develop individual practice, where students hone their dexterity with established and progressive media, actively testing modes of production through focused acts of doing and making.
SECOND YEAR Students are required to attend and complete the submission requirements for TWO Courses (one in the Autumn Term and one in the Winter Term). Students must submit a bound submission for each course at the end of each term, thereby completing their MS2 requirements for entry into their 3rd year of study at the AA.
PENN, SEMESTER VS, 3rd YEAR and DIPLOMA students must also submit and upload their work in order to complete the course.

TERM 2 Submission Deadline: Thursday 23rd March, 1pm
You must submit the following:
1. Hard copy submitted to your course tutor during the final Jury session
2. Digital submission online here with your AA login: https://submissions.aaschool.ac.uk/, website opens Thursday 16th March, 13.00.
Your physical submission will be used for assessment, but you are also required to upload a complete digital copy or record of your submission. See below for further details about digital submissions.
Physical Submissions // Your submission should showcase your work in its best light, to make a coherent, elegant document that clearly demonstrate your Media Studies work for each course. This process of compiling your work is a critically important part of Media Studies; it is an act of communication and you should aim to convey the ideas you explored in your work, the observations you made and the things you discovered over the term, with creativity and visual clarity.
FORMAT // There is no restriction on size and format, we encourage you to be professional but inventive in your presentation - you should not feel restricted to standard ‘A’ sizes. Submissions may include fold out sections or accompanying tubes/folders to incorporate larger original works together with smaller bound booklets where necessary.
VIDEO + ANIMATION WORK // Any film, web or animation work must be represented 'on paper', using selected frames, screen captures and links to any relevant online content. It should also be included on a CD or memory stick with your submission.
Digital Submissions // Because of the diverse nature of Media Studies work, compiling your digital submission may mean photographing or scanning parts of your physical submission - especially if it contains hand-drawn work, or involves folded parts or interesting paper, etc.
FORMAT // ALL submissions are required in DIGITAL (PDF) format. You should endeavour to present your work in ONE PDF file but there is provision to upload more than one file should this be required.
VIDEO, WEB + ANIMATION WORK // Please upload your video files following the instructions on the submission page. Include links to any other relevant web pages or online content in your pdf submission.
GROUP WORK // Any submissions that take the form of GROUP WORK must be uploaded by EACH group member; if one group member uploads on behalf of everyone else then only that student will have undertaken the required hand-in.
NB: You have one opportunity to upload your FINAL and COMPLETED work.
